Interventional Radiologist
100% IR | 7 On / 7 Off | No Diagnostic Responsibilities
Work approximately 26 weeks per year in a full-time, 100% interventional radiology practice serving two hospitals within a collaborative regional IR program.
Geisinger Community Medical Center (Scranton, PA) and Geisinger Wyoming Valley (Wilkes-Barre, PA)
Geisinger is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Interventional Radiologist to join our established IR team serving northeast Pennsylvania. This position is part of a regional interventional radiology practice providing coverage across Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton and Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre.
This full-time, hospital-employed opportunity offers a predictable 7-on / 7-off schedule from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. The role is focused exclusively on Interventional Radiology, with no diagnostic responsibilities.
Opportunity Highlights

- Starting salary $596,000, commensurate with experience
- $140,000 starting bonus

Clinical Practice
- Full spectrum of IR procedures in a high-volume environment
- Average volume of approximately 8 procedures per physician per day
- Overall case mix of 60% outpatient, 30% inpatient, and 10% emergent
- Dedicated IR suites at both locations with fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and cone beam imaging
- Support from onsite APPs, experienced technologists, and dedicated nursing teams
- Ongoing investment in IR infrastructure and continued growth of the systemwide IR program
Professional Development
- Structured onboarding and mentorship within a large, experienced IR group

Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology
- Comfortable practicing the full spectrum of IR in a busy hospital setting
- New graduates and fellows are welcome
- Interest in practicing within a collaborative regional model serving both Scranton and Wilkes-Barre locations
