ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Department of Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences Full-time, consecutive-term appointment for a 12-month position available immediately at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directorship and coordination of the sonography educational laboratory for OKC and Tulsa campuses under the direction of the program director. These duties may include:
a. Developing and maintaining appropriate laboratory proficiencies and practicums, laboratory evaluations, and assessment schedules that comply with program standards b. Establishing rapport and interdisciplinary interactions with other OU Health Colleges to facilitate collaboration in the interprofessional sonography laboratory c. Using the sonography equipment to teach sonography students and interdisciplinary students across the Campus
2. Teach some courses within the department and program as assigned
3. Participate in the accreditation process
4. Participate in the tri-mission (scholarly activity, service and teaching) of the University of Oklahoma as deemed appropriate with your role as faculty member
5. Participate in program, department, and college functions and committees
6. Performs other duties as defined by Program Director and/or Department Chair
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• ARDMS, ASRT and/or CCI Certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Adult Cardiac, or in 3 and willing to obtain fourth certification within 1 year of hire
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in sonography
• Experience instructing students in a sonography program (clinic or classroom)
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University and willing to obtain a master's degree within 3 years of hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned master's or PhD degree
• Additional ARDMS/CCI/ASRT certifications
• Experience instructing in a JRC-Accredited sonography program
• Strong organizational skills and verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Exhibits leadership in interdisciplinary interactions
