D. or D.O. (Schools of Medicine Accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association). Foreign medical graduates must be verified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Completed Residency Training.
Board Eligible/ Board Certified with a current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any state or U.S. territory.
Preferred Experience and Additional Requirements: Completion of a body fellowship with a specialization in body MRI is required. Proficiency in interpreting low-dose CT scans for our Lung Cancer Screening Program is also essential. The candidate should be capable of interpreting general ultrasounds and plain radiographs. In addition, the candidate will support patient care services by effectively communicating exam results that correspond to the clinical significance or urgency. The individual will also be responsible for prescribing and modifying exam protocols as necessary based on specific clinical indications.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am-4:30pm or 4- day compressed tour opportunities.
Practice Environment:Outpatient and Inpatient Settings.
Call Coverage:1:12 weeks. UC Irvine residents provide after-hours preliminary reads and pager coverage, and The National Teleradiology Program (NTP) covers after-hours final reads for emergent/ inpatient studies. The radiologist attending is on back-up call.
Academic Affiliations:University of California, Irvine. Academic appointment with resident teaching opportunities. Responsibilities will also encompass participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and the education of diagnostic radiology residents from the University of California, Irvine.

Competitive Starting Annual Salary: $350,000-$400,000. Additionally, employees may be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in performance-based pay annually. Furthermore, employees can qualify for Proficiency Awards, which are available in addition to Pay for Performance incentives. Regular salary reviews will occur every two years, and all employees will receive cost-of-living adjustments annually.
Education Debt Reduction Program: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP),a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
Continuing Education: As a VA physician, you can earn CME credits at no cost. You can receive $1,000 or more annually and five days of paid absences to attend CME courses (conditions apply).
Paid Time Off: You will receive 208 hours or approximately 26 days of annual leave a year. Unlimited accumulation of paid sick time and 11 paid federal holidays will begin accruing upon entry.
