THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day operation and supervision of the Nuclear Medicine (NM) and PET imaging at the Main Hospital and the ACC. Must maintain an expert handle on all equipment, protocols, and quality control procedures. Must maintain an expert knowledge of equipment, clinical and research protocols, safety and regulatory requirements and quality control procedures. Incumbent is responsible for staffing, work procedures, quality of work, customer service, labor relations, short-term planning, problem solving and process improvements for the NM and PET imaging operations of the Center. The incumbent is responsible for educational and training oversight of NM and PET technologists. Works directly with the Center Directors and the NM Division Chief (or their designees) to maintain, standardize and optimize protocols. As a working supervisor, under the direction of a qualified physician and physicist, the supervisor will operate a variety of NM and PET imaging equipment and perform a full range of NM and PET imaging and related procedures using established protocols. Maintains and operates equipment according to manufacturers operation manual, reporting all problems using established UCDHS Policy and Procedures, and Department of Radiology Policy and Procedures. Work is performed with full independence and decision-making responsibility under general consultative direction of the Center Directors, Department Head, and Division Chief. Incumbent exercises initiative, originality, and judgement in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems. Must perform calmly in stressful situations and interact with radiologists, clinicians, researchers, and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness. Required Qualifications Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position. - Possession of valid technical certificate for California State Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine is required.
- ARRT (N)(CT) and/or NMTCB certification required.
- CPR required
- Minimum of five years experience with Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
Preferred Qualifications - Two years in a supervisory/leadership role of a Radiology/Imaging Services department.
Special Requirements - Must be able to work variable hours, alternate shifts, and overtime to provide coverage as deemed necessary by operational demands or patient care needs.
- Must be able to rotate for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage per departmental staffing guidelines.
- Must be able to travel to other UCD imaging facilities.
- This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
