Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mammography Technologist - NYU Langone Radiology - Lake Success.
In this role, the successful candidate Under the direction of a Radiologist, operates radiologic/mammographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images. and performs routine diagnostic and interventional breast procedures according to established standards and practices.
Job Responsibilities:
Operates radiology mammography equipment to produce diagnostic images of specific body areasparts as ordered for interpretation by the radiologist.
Performs other duties as assigned
Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum. Works with the radiography student to perform exams as well as performing individual image evaluation.
Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the manager or lead technologist in a timely fashion.
Enters proper exam coding. Arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion. Complies with all MQSA and ACR standards for mammography.
Accurately utilizes the PACS system to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation.
Technologist accurately monitors exposure to the pregnant patient. Technologist creates a minimum number of exceptions.
Prepares patient using proper positioning andor immobilizing patients and giving them the proper instructions regarding the procedure. Quality review of the technologists images fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP and MQSA guidelines. Gives clear and concise instruction to the patient before beginning an exam.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Technical DiplomaGraduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. New York State license. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Advanced Certification in Mammography. 1 - 2 years in Radiologic Technology. Excellent communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Full knowledge of radiology and Breast Imaging equipment and Radiation physics.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree In Radiology program or relatedHealth field.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $88,920.00 - $98,920.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
