Position Summary:The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic procedures. Work situations are a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. External contacts include patients, family members, and physicians. Internal contacts include nursing service staff and management.
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of and understanding of principles of radiation safety and the safe and appropriate use of ionization radiation Knowledge of and understanding of age related care needs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and/or families Knowledge of the normal signs of aging and ability to provide age appropriate care Knowledge of aspects of patient care, e.g., patient transferring, cart transportation, filing of patient records, room cleaning, etc. Skill in age related patient assessment and creating plans of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient Ability to rotate shifts within the department
Education/Licenses/Certifications:Graduate or eligible for graduation with an AA degree from accredited Imaging program or equivalent- Certified with the State of Washington Department of Health - Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required. If registry is pending, must complete within 6 months from date of hire into this job classification.- Current BLS certification
