The cardiovascular catheterization technologist will be able to perform varying complex therapeutic procedural modalities including Electrophysiology, Permanent Pacemaker and Defibrillator implantation as well as Cardiac/Peripheral/Neurovascular intervention. The cardiovascular technologist will also perform diagnostic and interventional procedures of all modalities listed. The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist works with direct supervision provided by the Cardiology Department within the Nursing Service at TVHS on technical radiologic problems. The incumbent works directly with Cardiologist on therapeutic procedures for proper setup. The incumbent reports to the lead technologist for job assignments. Be proficient in radiation protection techniques to minimize procedural dose to patients and accumulative dose to staff. And the skill to recognize changes in equipment and procedures that might result in increased c:xposures and ?? measures to prevent such exposures. Record 12-lead ECG's on catheterizations patients. Proper positioning techniques to facilitate precise sizing of vessels for therapeutic procedures that include stenting of coronary, peripheral and neurovascular arteries. Operation of Pacemaker Programmable Stimulator1o provide programmed premature stimuli synchronized at selected intervals to asynchronous pacing pulses or to sensed spontaneous depolarization's under the direction of the attending Cardiologist Operation of Rapid Atrial Pacemaker, External A-V Sequential Demand Pulse Generator rate controller, Pacing Systems Analyzer, Permanent Pacemaker and Multifunction Programmer under the direction of the Attending Cardiologist. Placement of and set up of the Intra Aortic Balloon Pump and the Intra Aortic Balloon Pump machine. Perform quantitative determinations of arterial and venous blood oxygen and carbon dioxide contents and or arterial oxygen saturations utilizing a blood oximetry and or oxygen consumption computer. Set up and perform ablation procedure for abnormal cardiac arrhythmia's that include 3D Mapping.
