Oversees the process for collection, analysis, and reporting of valid, reliable, and quality clinical data for the clinical registries of Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI). Responsible for the evaluation of existing and potential data sources to support quality clinical data and to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the data collection, analysis, and display/reporting process. Serves as a resource for hospital administration, physicians, and other hospital departments for the collection, analysis, and reporting of valid and reliable data to use in making decisions on improvement in clinical care. Acts as a liaison for external organizations, including but not limited to, Society for Thoracic Surgery and American College of Radiology. Manages clinical data specialists and other assigned staff to meet the goals of the NHCI system.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical health-related field with education and training in information systems related to collection and analysis of clinical data.
Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in evaluating, refining, and improving clinical data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of statistics and experience in the use of statistical software applications.
Demonstrated knowledge of computers and microcomputer applications to include graphic presentation, statistical analysis, and spreadsheet software packages.
Minimum of two years experience in a manager or supervisor position
Demonstrated knowledge of hospital and health system operations.
Excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.
Strong analytical and organization skills.
Ability to work independently, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and meet required deadlines.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
Masters Degree in Health Services (Public Health), Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Information/Computer Systems or related field.
Previous experience in a consulting capacity.
Demonstrated experience in writing programs to support clinical data collection.
