The Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan is seeking a full-time/part-time fellowship trained radiologist to join our Breast Imaging Division as Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Professor rank.
The University of Michigan Division of Breast Imaging represents a specialized group of clinical imaging services within the Department of Radiology. We perform more than 55,000 comprehensive examinations every year utilizing the latest equipment available. Our division consists of 14 distinguished Breast Imaging specialists involved in clinical care and research. There is a long-standing history of close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team at our Breast Care Center, staffed by breast surgeons, pathologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and plastic surgeons. Breast Imaging is also part of our Rogel Cancer Center, which is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, an alliance of the world’s 21 leading cancer centers.
We offer full-field digital mammography and tomosynthesis units, hand-held ultrasound, 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging with a dedicated breast imaging coil. Our procedures include prone stereotactic core needle biopsies, wire or magseed localizations, and ultrasound guided fine-needle aspirations and biopsies, and MRI guided vacuum assisted biopsies.
We are consistently ranked as one of the country’s top ten hospitals, radiology departments and medical schools in the country. We have a dedicated diagnostic and interventional radiology residency program, sponsor two Breast Imaging fellows every year, and participate regularly in medical school education.
Our Department of Radiology offers a wide array of clinical and academic tract options. Required Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent, ABR-certified or has passed the core examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency, fellowship training in breast imaging radiology, and the ability to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in teaching is expected.
