Incumbent performs Computerized tomography of the head, neck spine, chest and body. The CT exams are performed with and without the use of contrast materials. Additionally, performs computerized tomography angiography studies as ordered and will participate in Telestroke patients and any other exams offered. Responsible for a range of all X-ray procedures within the X-ray department. This job will primarily be in the X-ray department with additional coverage as needed in the CT department. Assigned duties include, but are not limited to: Inventory Control: Ensures that adequate quantities of CT supplies are available to meet workload demands. Technology Advancement: Recommends and evaluates new or modified procedures/protocols. Equipment Maintenance/Repair: Assists in the coordination of the repair of CT/XR equipment. May serve as the liaison between Radiology Service and Biomedical Engineering and repair contractors. Independently performs all CT and general radiography protocols with and without the use of contrast materials. Must have advanced knowledge of cross sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computed tomography, inclusive of 3-D reconstruction and post processing. Schedules exams in a manner to optimize scanner times. This requires the ability to prioritize scheduled patients and the ability to accommodate the emergency patient. Confers with Radiologists to determine requirement of nonstandard exams. Advises Radiologist or referring physicians of examination results when necessary; notifies them of scans requiring their immediate attention. Maintains an ARRT licensure and BLS certification. Proficient with the computerized Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
