Nuclear Medicine Physician/Diagnostic Radiologist

The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a fellowship-trained Nuclear Medicine Physician/Diagnostic Radiologist. This is a faculty position that reports to the Department Chair.
As a member of our team of nuclear medicine radiologists, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to practice cutting-edge nuclear medicine. The nuclear medicine experience includes adult and pediatric diagnostic nuclear medicine (including cardiac), nuclear medicine therapies and theranostics, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT. Additional opportunities include participation in tumor boards and multidisciplinary conferences, as well as other interdisciplinary activities. Research opportunities are available and are encouraged. State-of-the-art translational imaging and image processing facilities are available and research is supported by dedicated research staff. We are enhancing our system coverage in an ever-growing practice.
The successful candidate will also assist in other radiology subspecialties according to their interest or expertise. All faculty are responsible for mentoring and teaching diagnostic radiology residents, cardiology fellows, and medical students. Most daily clinical assignments involve direct resident supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other appropriate scholarly activities. Successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations. The Department of Radiology provides services for the UNM Hospital, a 580-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center including UNM Children’s Hospital; the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center; the 71-bed Sandoval Regional Medical Center; and the 320-bed Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley with stunning natural beauty.
