This is a .9 benefit eligible position, 8 hour work days,primarily assigned to the evening shift. A typical schedule will be 2:30PM-10:30PM, with every other Tuesday off. Positions within the department are not regularly scheduled to work weekends or take on call services.
Southdale offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients. We have outpatient access seven days a week. The position in the CT department would offer imaging care to in-patients, out-patients and emergent patients. The technologists work collaboratively within the Imaging team and amongst varying levels of clinical practitioners. The CT technologist will provide imaging services to a wide variety of examinations from Neuro, Body, Muskuloskeletal, & Vascular.
The CT Technologist duties:
Performs individualized, compassionate patient care.
Performs high quality examinations.
Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety.
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness.
Verify patient identification and documentation.
Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam.
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
Ensures patient data integrity.
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures.
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes.
Follows infection control guidelines.
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members.
Responds appropriately to emergent situations.
Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving.
Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.
