Role Summary:
Responsible for radiology patient flow.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Give all MRI patients' the MRI Screening Questionnaire; give CT patients that are having contrast, a CT Questionnaire; give all Dexa patients' a Bone Density Questionnaire. Assist patients with the forms when needed.
• Review up-coming schedule for all radiology modalities.
• Check for orders on all radiology scheduled patients, to ensure orders have correct test marked, physician's signature, and diagnosis.
• Call physician's offices for missing orders, orders needing correction (bad diagnosis, invalid ICD10 codes, questionable tests ordered, not fully marked body parts, etc.) for all Outpatient radiology examinations. Request the patient's medicine list for specific test that require it.
• Communicate with the radiology techs and patients regarding any delays, the process, hold for precert, or order problems.
• Answer incoming calls, transfer calls to other departments as needed.
• Monitor RIS - "Arrive" the patient in RIS when order is received from Patient Access.
• Check paperwork received from Patient Access for correct spelling of patient's name, date of birth, and ordering physician before "Arriving" the patient in RIS.
• Enter orders into Pulse for all add on test, and all X-Ray orders.
• Assist Interventional Nurse with printing the Nursing Assessment packets from Emprint on scheduled Radiology Interventional patients.
• Depending on qualifications, will be required to give a patient the oral contrast to drink one hour before the CT scan; perform point-of-care testing; start IV's.

• Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital currently offers the following imaging services: Mammography, Bone Density Imaging, Diagnostic Imaging/X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT, and Interventional Radiology services. We are proud to say that both our Ultrasound and Mammography services are ACR accredited. Associates have both inpatient and outpatient opportunities.
