Work Hours/Shift: Full Time Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm You Will Be Responsible For: · Performs microscopic examination of both non-gynecologic and gynecologic specimens for evidence of precancerous lesions, cancer, inflammatory processes, organisms and other pathological conditions · Enters diagnosis into the LIS system · Tracks daily slide screening and other cytology QA/QC · Processes gynecologic, non-gynecologic & fine needle aspiration (FNA) specimens · Assists pathologist on FNA/core biopsy (ROSE) procedures in special radiologic settings · Maintains equipment and supplies · Follows all established policies and procedures · Performs other duties at the discretion of the supervisor What You Will Need: · Bachelorâ™s degree or higher in Biological Science · Successful completion of a 12-month Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Cytotechnology program · Certified as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a CT (ASCP) · One to three years of experience preferred · ThinPrep Imager experience preferred Job Summary: Cytotechnologist performs anatomical pathology procedures as certified. Requires the exercise of independent judgement under minimum supervision. Work customarily involves procedures, cytopreparation and slide screening, which require a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge, and expertise in certified area.
