The TCD Technologist will perform Transcranial Doppler studies (TCD) to help establish clinical diagnosis of several cerebrovascular disorders. Incumbent will also provide support services, which may include maintaining supplies and equipment, assembling clinical trial imaging, and coordinating referring physician requests.
The TCD Technologist performs routine and complex procedures on inpatients (UCDMC) and outpatients (Midtown ACC) of various ages. TCD studies may be performed in the laboratory, at the bedside, and in the ICU.
Experience in working in patient care setting.
Must have the knowledge and ability to learn to perform the TCD studies.
Must have the ability to apply basic principles and practices to novel techniques and develop expertise in performing complex studies/ procedures.
Experience with medical terminology to accurately transcribe physician’s orders.
Experience with computer systems to include troubleshooting, burning DVDs, copying files, uploading and downloading various medical imaging.
Knowledge of head, neck, brain anatomy
Experience in performing TCD studies/procedures
Experience in performing Vascular studies/procedures
Experience in Neurophysiology and/or Neurodiagnostic studies/procedures
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
Must participate in variable work hours including weekdays, weekends and holidays; Must comply and adhere to UCDMC and departmental attendance and dress code policies; Must be able to speak and understand the English language; Must follow UCDMC Practice Standards as applicable to job duties.
