A nonprofit, professional medical society representing more than 8,000 practicing interventional radiology physicians, trainees, medical students, scientists and clinical associates, including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, radiologic technologists and paramedical professionals. The Executive Director is the chief staff executive, reporting to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director, in partnership with the President and Board, establishes the goals and strategy of the organization. The Executive Director executes SIR’s strategy; oversees its operations, finances, partnerships, alliances, and business development; and creates value for our members in core areas of advocacy and educational programs. This position requires a visionary and committed individual who will serve as the voice and face of this professionally diverse and highly-skilled membership organization. In today’s US health and health care environment, the Executive Director must be driven to stay “ahead of the curve” on our nation’s health issues as well as be ready to adapt in an ever changing work environment.

Candidates must have an advanced degree and extensive experience with administration or association management. A career record of progressively responsible and diverse challenges in senior level health system, roles, community, non-profit, government, and/or association management with proven and sustained results is required. He/She will have a record of working successfully with an active Board of Directors. Have a distinguished record of executive leadership with successful management of a large, complex organization, preferably with a medical association or organization in the healthcare field. Candidates with established networks across the full health ecosystem are preferred. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong strategic vision and critical thinking skills. A CAE or FACHE designation is considered a plus.
