Responsible for the oversight and management of the Cath Lab Department, including SPA & Interventional Radiology. Ensure appropriate standards of care and policies are followed. Monitor fiscal and budgetary operations and provide support for the vision and direction of specific areas. Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with patients, customers, associates, and management. Effectively manage change, facilitate innovation, foster teambuilding. Works with patients from adolescent to geriatric. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Efficiently controls and coordinates the daily schedules of procedures. Maintains appropriate staffing in all the departments of responsibility. Demonstrates appropriate productivity and FTEs. Follows-up on issues (QA, staff, patient and physician complaints) and completes in a timely and thorough manner. Assists with interviewing, hiring and termination of employees. Assures all evaluations are completed fairly, accurately, and prior to due date. Performs direct patient care as needed. Improves practices to contain and improve expenses; institutes cost containment measures. Evaluates and maintains appropriate inventory controls. Assures appropriate instrumentation and supplies are available and properly maintained for the procedures as schedules. Interprets and enforces hospital and department policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge of government (Title 22, JC, Nurse Practice Act, etc.) and assures departmental compliance. Performs all other duties as assigned.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Required: If candidate being hired is an RN he/she must be currently licensed in state working, if not an RN candidate must be registered/certified to practice profession as required by law (e.g., AART, ACVT, RCIS, or other applicable certification or registration); ACLS; National Incident Management System (NIMS) class to be completed within 6 months of being hired.
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited school of nursing; school of radiology; or school of cardiovascular technology. Preferred: Masters degree preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: Three (3) to five (5 years) years of demonstrated work experience in cardiovascual services role. Preferred: At least two (2) year of supervisor experience in a healthcare facility.
