Leads the daily operations of mammography imaging services.
Ensures image quality, excellence in patient care and uninterrupted work flow. Monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy. Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting. Serves as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the health care team as needed. Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provides input to staff performance evaluations. Oversees a comprehensive breast care program to incorporate a customer friendly environment that includes breast screening, diagnostic mammogram, and breast ultrasound examination. Collects, identifies, and documents patient history data as required in RIS and PACs information. Uses acceptable medical abbreviations and terminology. Troubleshoots errors and performs quality assurance checks at all CHN sites.
Assists in training, mentoring others in acquiring Mammography skills. Documents clinical instruction.
Qualifications: LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Certification Required: ARRT- R and M (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and AZ Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE) - R and M. Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
EDUCATION: Required: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: Five (5) years as mammography technologist. Preferred: Two (2) years in a mammography leadership role.
