JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist (CT) HSH LOCATION: Holy Spirit Hospital DEPARTMENT: Radiology WORK SCHEDULE: Rotation WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Radiologist and the following established duties and responsibilities, performs computed tomography (CT) procedures to acquire digital images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Plans and performs all CT procedures and post processing using advanced technology based on clinical criteria, anatomy and established protocols. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in their assigned clinical area.
Ensures protocols are based on ImageGently Guidelines and CT scanner’s integration into the program that compiles dose data from each scan performed and notifies the user when a scan exceeds specific preset vels. Works under the general supervision of the Team Leader and/or Technical Specialist.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates effective organizational skills and effective communication skills.
Requires the ability to work in close cooperation with members of a team of physicians, nurses and other technical staff in a fast moving environment.
Demonstrates computer skills including RIS / PACS, Windows, Internet, Infoweb, Outlook emails, EPIC, Passwords and security.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact, and ability to perform both independently and as a team member.
Demonstrates initiative and the ability to assume multi-task duties and function under significant time pressures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an approved ARRT training program required. BS ARRT preferred.
Radiology ARRT registered or registry eligible required. Registered BS ARRT preferred
CT Registered (2nd Registry) within 12 months of CT hire date
Two years’ experience as a registered Radiology Technologist preferred
Prior Computed Tomography experience in a Trauma / Cardiac facility preferred
Requires six months on-the-job training.
