JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist - General Diagnostics
LOCATION: POTTSVILLE CPSL AND PEDS SPEC
WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings
WORK TYPE: FULL TIME
Provides radiological support services and related documentation within the clinic
setting. Assists in specific nursing function relative to the diagnosis and treatment of
patients as trained and directed by the provider. Performs all office laboratory
functions and concomitant documentation. Performs and/or assists in the performance of
various diagnostic examinations and procedures as trained and directed by provider.
Provides business office support. Provides other diagnostic
testing and support. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the
specific age range on the assigned clinical area.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient
Works under general supervision of the clinic site provider and reports to the Operations Manager.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of the equipment used in clinical diagnosis, treatment and monitoring
Knowledge of radiography tools and imaging techniques, processes and procedures used in diagnostics; ability to produce images of internal body structures for clinical purposes
Knowledge of radiation safety regulations, principles, techniques and nuclear materials handling; ability to practically apply this knowledge to resolve safety issues.
Knowledge of and ability to prepare patients for diagnostic/radiological imaging and to monitor patients' reactions during and after a procedure. Responds to emergent situations by applying appropriate measures.
Demonstrates ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in various testing
and support functions.
Demonstrates competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to use computers with general keyboarding, typing and internet navigation skills
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills, strong clinical skills and flexibility to deal with variety of clinic
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of American Registry of Radiology Technologists (A.R.R.T.) Program required.
Must be BLS certified.
Minimum of 1 year experience in physician office setting involving nursing functions
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May handle or be exposed to hazardous materials.
Work involves lifting/maneuvering patients
Involves stooping/bending/kneeling to perform job duties
Work involves lifting/maneuvering equipment or materials
Work involves pushing/pulling equipment
Requires travel to employer site(s) and to other CareWorks sites.
