Sheridan Healthcare, with sponsorship by the University of Central Flrida College of Medicine/HCA Graduate Medical Education Consortium, is seeking a dynamic, experienced fellowship trained physician to serve as Residency Program Director for our new ACGME Radiology Residency Training Program in Orlando, Florida. Position would include Residency Director responsibilities along with being a member of the Orlando Radiologist Physician team.
The Radiology Residency Program Director will have the unique opportunity to lead the development of a new ACGME accredited radiology residency program based at Osceola Regional Medical Center, a facility of HCA, the nation’s leading provider of healthcare services. The Program Director will have faculty appointment at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The UCF Health Science campus, located in Lake Nona, includes state of the art medical education and research facilities.
Osceola Regional has established residency programs in Emergency Medicine, OB/GYN and Internal Medicine. The Director will be responsible for the administration and operations of the program, including all activities related to recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, advising, evaluation and advancement of residents and the maintenance of all records related to the program. The Radiology Residency Program Director ensures continuing accreditation of the program through application of ACGME Common and Specialty requirements.
Osceola Regional Medical Center is a Joint Commission accredited 321-bed hospital. The imaging center features a full range of outpatient imaging services including Digital X-Ray, Digital Mammogram and 3T MRI.
Highlights and responsibilities of this position include: Being a part of a high functioning, well respected radiology practice Radiologists who are always available for additional consultation NCQA certification for credentialing and conduct our own approved physician review process Participate in coverage schedule rotation, including days, evenings and weekends Managing the demands of a high volume facility
Qualification requirements include demonstrated clinical excellence, leadership, teaching, and research skills. Current board certification, fellowship training, radiology specialty experience, and a strong commitment to resident and student education is required. A minimum of 1 year current radiology academic teaching as core faculty, Associate Program Director or Sub-specialty Director is required. Three years of experience preferred. Must have evidence of scholarly activity within the past five years.
