| Two Faculty Positions Available University of Washington (Seattle, WA) Emergency and Trauma Harborview Medical Center |
The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) invites applications for a two part-time, 50% FTE, faculty positions in the non-tenure track at the level of Assistant Professor (0113) or Associate Professor (0112) to join the Emergency and Trauma Radiology section at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, WA. Harborview Medical Center (HMC) is one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers and the only Level 1 trauma center in the state of Washington. In addition to caring for local trauma and non-traumatic emergencies, Harborview receives and cares for large numbers of severely injured patients transferred from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Wyoming. The section staffs a busy emergency radiology practice situated in the center of the emergency and trauma center. Emergency Radiology trains medical students and all radiology residents from the University of Washington, as well as two fellows per year.
The ideal candidate would have several years of experience in Emergency Radiology. A fellowship in Emergency Radiology is preferred for junior faculty, but can be waived for those with appropriate experience in an Emergency Radiology program with demonstrated clinical expertise in the field. Candidates should have a demonstrated academic record, although junior faculty will be considered if academic ability and productivity can be clearly demonstrated. Responsibilities will include teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and engagement in research. Candidates who also have fellowship training or extensive experience in musculoskeletal imaging are encouraged to apply.
Candidates for this position must hold an M.D., or foreign equivalent, be eligible for Washington Medical Licensure, board certified in radiology and have a strong desire for a career in academic radiology. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
