Methodist Charlton Medical Center is seeking a "Certified" Tumor Registrar to join the Oncology TEAM. The selected candidate must have a CTR certification in order to be considered for this position.
This position is an "in house" position (not a remote one).
Your Job: We need high-performing, experienced Oncology Clinical Data Specialist that is responsible for the abstraction, analysis, investigation, reporting and follow-up for quality indicators/measures from internal and external initiatives to improve patient care, processes of care and outcome. The Oncology Clinical Data Specialist will be a valuable member of the hospital's Cancer Committee & Breast Program Leadership Committee. This individual will be a part of a growing Cancer Program.
Your Job Requirements:
Certified Tumor Registrar certification is required
Associate or Bachelor's degree, science emphasis is strongly preferred, or commensurate healthcare experience preferred
3 to 5 Years working in a cancer registry is preferred; experience working in a hospital cancer registry that is CoC & NAPBC accredited is preferred.
Your Job Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of Cancer Conferences for the Cancer Program as outlined in the "Cancer Conference Preparation Guide" document located on the Shared Drive under the Cancer Conference folder.
Perform all duties in the "Survivorship Care Plan Process Guide" that are designated as the in house CTR's responsibilities.
Assist with Breast Program Leadership & Cancer Committee meetings including the following:
Work with Director of the Cancer Program to prepare the agenda
Work with Director of the Cancer Program to prepare the power point presentation & any packets needed for the meeting
Send out meeting reminders to the committee members the week of the meeting
Set up all items for the meetings including computer, projector, & power point presentation the day of the meeting
Record minutes during the meeting
Type up minutes from the meeting & send to the Director of the Cancer Program for review no later than 3 weeks from the meeting
At the request of the Director of the Cancer Program obtain any reports or data that is needed for the meeting
Maintain Cancer Registry QA at minimum within 3 months from the month the case was abstracted. Meet with the designated physician to ensure that he/she is completing the QA process and to answer any questions the physician may have.
Obtain treatment and follow up information from the appropriate external facilities for the Cancer Registry on a monthly basis. Provide this information to the remote CTR for input into the Cancer Registry if needed.
