The Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center Richmond VA is seeking an Academic fellowship trained Thoracic/Cardiac Radiologist who can also perform General Radiology. Duties include reading CT, MRI, US, plain films and performing CT/US guided procedures. Responsibilities include teaching VCU Radiology Residents and performing research (publishing, applying for grants and preparing presentations). Incumbent will spearhead the Lung cancer screening program.
The department performs approximately 120,000 examinations per year and has 11 full and 6 part time faculty members. 6 VCU Radiology residents are present at the VAMC at all times. We currently have 2 GE MRIs (1.5T and 3 T), 1 Siemens MRI (1.5 T wide bore) and 2 Toshiba CT scanners (64 and 320 slice). We are in the process of acquiring a third Dual Energy CT scanner and a fourth MRI system (3T high gradient). The CT section routinely performs low dose Chest CTs, Chest CTA’s, Coronary CTA's and CT guided Microwave / RF ablations. In addition, the MR section is currently performing Cardiac MRI and MRAs. We utilize ADW, Vitrea, Tera Recon and Dynacad workstations. VA Richmond encourages active multidisciplinary collaboration through more than 10 weekly conferences including Cardiac Conference and Thoracic Tumor Board. The successful candidate can be eligible for academic appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level at Virginia Commonwealth University.
