The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant or Associate Professor positions in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or non-tenure clinician-educator track. The successful applicants will have experience in the field of Radiology with a focus on Abdominal Imaging. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, clinical care and research (research for C-E track only). Candidates must be American Board of Radiology certified or Board Eligible and have completed or be currently enrolled in an ACGME approved Abdominal Imaging fellowship.
Multi-modality experience in Computed Tomography, Fluoroscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Ultrasound is highly desirable. Candidates must participate in and contribute to a high-quality teaching program.
The AC track places an emphasis on clinical practice and teaching in the academic setting. Scholarly activity is encouraged, but not required.
Teaching activities in the Abdominal Imaging Division include:
•Daily clinical supervision of residents and abdominal imaging fellows
•Lecturing at assigned resident didactic conferences
•Lecturing at abdominal imaging fellow lecture series
•Attendance and teaching at monthly follow-up conferences in GI, US, CT and MR
•Participation in monthly journal club meetings
The C-E track places an emphasis on clinical practice and teaching in the academic setting as well as research. The successful candidate must have an established track record of scholarly activity/publication, and be interested in a research career. Grant funding is desired but not required.
Applicants in mid-career with established records of scholarly activity and/or programmatic development are encouraged to apply, as are more junior faculty applicants with established records of scholarly activity during training and/or early career development.
Applicants with experience and/or interest in any one of the following areas research are particularly encouraged to apply:
•Dual-energy CT applications
•Functional/multi-parametric MRI analysis
•US contrast agents
Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Division of Community Radiology and Penn Medicine Cherry Hill.
