Performs all MRI procedures and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the operation of all equipment in the MRI area. Safely operates the scanner and injector in order to produce diagnostic quality MR images. Understands the computer software of the MR scanners and maintains competency in MR area. Consistently applies working knowledge pertaining to MR anatomy and patho-physiology to produce a high standard of quality images while under the direction of a radiologist. Provides appropriate and safe patient care. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Participates in staff/student orientation and training. Performs venipuncture for appropriate exams. May transport non-narcotic medications as directed.
Education: Graduation of JRCERT Accredited or ARRT approved Radiography or MRI degree program
Experience: Radiology or MRI degree graduates accepted
Training: Will train for MRI
License: Florida Radiologic Technologist License for radiology techs only. MRI degree for non-radiology techs.
On-call pager pay is paid at $2 per hour. On-call is m-f 12am-7am & sat/sun 11p-7a. The rotation is divided monthly amongst 7 technologist once fully staffed. A callback consist of time and a half minimum pay of 3 hours plus shift differential for time worked. We review in further detail when we interview the applicant.
